Dorothy A. Wohlgemuth , 88 years and 8 days of age of New Hanover, PA, formerly of Andreas, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at her daughter 's home with her family by her side. Born June 25, 1934 in Harrisburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late George Lester Kline and Anna L. (McAllister) Kline. She was the wife of the late Rev. Henry Karl Wohlgemuth who passed away March 31, 2017.

Dorothy obtained her LPN in 1969 at Sacred Heart School of Nursing, Norristown PA, and worked as a nurse on the medical/surgical unit for a number of years.  In 1981, Dorothy and her husband moved to Atlanta, GA.  She obtained her Associates Degree at DeKalb College earning her R.N. credentials at the age of 50, and worked as a nurse at Rhodes Nursing Home upon graduation until she moved back to PA in 1996 where she and her husband built their dream home on 16 glorious acres they had owned since 1969.

Dorothy was an R.N. for over 29 years, last serving at a nursing home near Andreas, PA where she retired.  She then began volunteering at Phoebe Nursing Home, Allentown, PA in the Alzheimer's Unit as the Activities Director, and also organized all of their huge yearly events including a monthly cooking class where she and her husband would make sure to cook the favorite meals of all of the residents who had birthdays that month.   She also volunteered her time and was very active in church activities, where her husband served as Interim Pastor at Dinkey Memorial Lutheran Church in his retirement years.  Most of her career was devoted to nursing home resident care, but she also worked for Norristown School District assisting mentally and physically handicapped children.

Dorothy was a kind and loving person, devoted to her family and friends unconditionally.  She was a beautiful and amazing soul that was giving to everyone in every walk of life, volunteering her time and energy to any cause.  Her sisters were so special and their love for one another was a gift.  She was treasured by her grandchildren, nieces and nephews who meant the world to her and her to them.  Dorothy loved animals, especially the dogs and cats she had adopted, and she left a tribute for her love of elephants, having collected hundreds of pictures and statues.  There is no doubt that God greeted her by saying "My beautiful servant, with whom I am well pleased".
