Earl T. "Butch" Newhart, Jr., 71, of Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Diane M. (Strohl) Newhart since June 17, 1967. Born in Whitehall, he was a son of the late Earl T., Sr. and Geraldine (Peters) Newhart.
Earl was employed as an oven operator for the former Tarkett Flooring Company, Whitehall, for 32 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Catasauqua. An avid bowler, he achieved a perfect 300 game at the former Boulevard Lanes, Allentown. Earl enjoyed golfing, and was an avid baseball fan, cheering for the Ambassadors, Iron Pigs, and all of the Philadelphia Teams. He enjoyed watching WWF Wrestling, and was a former member of the Catasauqua Lions Club.
Survivors: Wife, Diane. Daughters, Patricia A. wife of Kelly Snyder of Catasauqua, Tina M. wife of Keith Landis of Trexlertown. Son, Thomas E. and wife Crystal of North Catasauqua. 1 granddaughter. 4 grandsons. Sisters, Audrey Druckenmiller of Whitehall, and Cheryl Dreher of Allentown. He was predeceased by sister, Phyllis, and a brother, James.
Services: 2:30 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. Call, 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment is at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Airport Road, Hanover Township.
