Earl L. Henning,
93, of Palmerton, and White Haven, Pennsylvania, died early Tuesday morning, December 5, 2017, at Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton. Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Emily (Bailey) Henning.
Earl was the former Director of Veteran Affairs, Jim Thorpe, Carbon County, Pennsylvania, for many years. He was also employed as a licensed insurance agent. A graduate of the Palmerton High School, he later served as a Navy Veteran of WWII, where he served with the NTS, Sampson, NY Squad VPB#1, and the Jacksonville, Florida Bombing Squad 104. Earl served his country honorably and achieved the rank of AMM2/c, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross Air Medal.
Survivors:
Daughters, Susan wife of John Leeson of Long Branch, New Jersey, Wendy wife of Richard Koch of Pocono Manor, Robyn wife of Glen Reinsmith of Slatington, Abby G. Rutch of Palmerton, and Mindy Solt of Allentown. Son, Gunnar Henning of White Haven. 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson.
Services:
Services are at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, in Annville, PA. Arrangements are by Campton Funeral Home, Inc., 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Online Condolences:
