Earl T. Wetzel , 88, of Britt Drive, Lehighton, E. Penn Twp., PA, died early Sunday morning, February 5, 2023, at Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown, Upper Macungie Twp. He was the husband of the late Patricia Y. (Conrad) Wetzel who passed in 2021. Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late Lukas and Mary E. (Frey) Wetzel.
Earl was employed as chief boiler supervisor for Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, until retirement. Previously, he worked for Altemos Atlantic Energy, Allentown, and Burkholder HVAC, Emmaus. He was a member of Ben Salem United Church of Christ, Lehighton. Earl was a member of Hogan's Social Club, Allentown, Knights of Columbus, and the Franklin Twp. Vol. Fire Co., Lehighton. Earl served in the PA Army National Guard, Vietnam Era, Stateside, achieving the rank of SGT with the 165th MP Battalion.
Survivors: Daughter, Meribeth A. Collette and companion John Pasko of Allentown. Sons, Craig and companion Sue Kondravy of Coplay, Drew of Lehighton, and Adam of Northampton. 4 grandchildren. 5 great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Janice Yale, Karan Wetzel, and Shirley Wetzel. Brothers, Richard, and Norman.
