Edgar A. Brobst, Jr., 73, of 3rd Street, Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, died Monday, April 4, 2016, in his home. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Edgar A., Sr. and Beatrice E. (White) Brobst.
Edgar was employed as a coin/stamp specialist at Keystone Rare Coins, Allentown. Previously, he worked in the same capacity for Lehigh Valley Coin & Stamp, and was co-owner of the former Edroy''s Shop, Main Street, Northampton. An avid musician, Edgar played in several music groups including Rocky Top, Jimmy Solderich and the Happy Yanks, and Music Inc. Throughout his career, Ed has played with many types of bands in various capacities. Many Nashville Stars have commented about his great harmony singing as well as his lead singing. He has performed on the same shows with country music stars as Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams Jr., and Tammy Wynette. Ed was charitable man, and enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors: Daughters, Roxanne Deegan wife of Ted W. Bachman of Schnecksville. Jessica M. wife of Scott Bahnck of Catasauqua. Son, Edgar A. III of Emmaus. 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Brother, LeRoy and wife Debbie of Northampton. Niece and nephew. Great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by wife JoAnne (Plovesan) Brobst.
Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, Pennsylvania 18067. Call, 7:00-8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016 and 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment is at Fairview Cemetery, Cherryville Road, Northampton.
