Edward J. Gogal, Jr.

Edward J. Gogal, Jr., 72 of Allentown, PA passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network in Bethlehem, PA. Born Tuesday, August 31, 1948 in Coaldale, PA, he was the son of the late Edward J. Gogal, Sr. and the late Margaret (Fetsurka) Gogal. He was the husband of Susan M. (Godlewski) Gogal with whom he shared 48 years of marriage this past June 9, 2021.

He was a graduate of Panther Valley High School who was last employed by Kovatch Mobile Equipment, Nesquehoning, PA, as a welder for 20 years before retiring. He was a longtime member and organist of the First Congregational Church of Coaldale. In his earlier years he served as a former for Nesquehoning Fire Company. Edward served his country first in the US Navy and continued on in the Vietnam War as a SGT in the US Army and retired as a crash rescue firefighter.

Surviving along with his wife, Susan are daughter, Jacqueline I. Gogal of Durham, NC, son, Timothy Gogal and wife Heather of Northampton, PA, daughter, brother, Larry Gogal and wife Patricia of Lake Hauto, PA, sister, Patricia wife of Sean Dice of Lynchburg, VA; 2 grandchildren, Ryan Truskey and Madison Gogal.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Future interment will take place at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. Arrangements are under the care of Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA 18067.
