Edwin W. Longacre

Edwin W. Longacre, 93 of Lehighton, PA, died on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at his residence. Born July 4, 1928 in Whitehall-Fullerton, PA. He was the son of the late Harry Longacre and the late Daisy (Reiber) Longacre. He was the husband of the late Hazel (Dunbar) Longacre, whom he shared over 40 years of marriage.

Edwin spent the majority of his professional career as a Crane Operator for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp in the Iron Foundry for 40 years before retiring in 1993. Edwin showed his continued love for flowers and gardening during his time at the Pioneer Flower Club in Lehighton and at his home. He also enjoyed raising and caring for his horses.

Surviving are daughter, Sharon Longacre of Lehighton, PA, brother, Warren Longacre of Kunkletown, PA, step-son Richard Hall and wife Janet of Lehighton, special grand-daughter Laurie Ahner wife of Kyle of Lehighton, along with 8 other grandchildren, Jeremy Kresge, Sean Dailey, Dixie Costenbader, Michelle Green, Tirzah Henry, Sean O'Brien, Jeffery and Jennie Hall, 16 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and son-in-law, William O'Brien, of Blakeslee, PA. He was predeceased by a son Larry, and a daughter, Deborah O'Brien.

Edwin's arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller Funeral Home, Lehighton, PA.
