Elizabeth "Ella" M. Gruber

Elizabeth "Ella" M. Gruber , 95, of N. Catasauqua, PA, formerly of Harvard Avenue, Palmerton, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon, July 26, 2022, in her home. She was the wife of the late James C. Gruber who passed in 1991.

Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter to the late John Sr. and Pauline (Stianche) Gazdick. Ella was employed as a registered nurse in the physical therapy department of the former Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, and the former Palmerton Hospital. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. Ella was a 1945 graduate of the Nesquehoning High School, later, graduating from the Palmerton Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the Retired Nurses Association.

Survivors: Sons, Scott E. of Bethlehem, The Rev. Fr. Eric J. Gruber with whom she resided. Daughter-in-law, Gwen Gruber of Palmerton. 4 grandchildren, Nick, Ian, Louis, and Curtis. Sister, Margaret Kattner of Jim Thorpe. Nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, James C., II, sisters, Ann Gazdick, Mary Hadnagy, Helen Mulligan, and brother, John.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00AM Saturday, Sacred Heart Church, 243 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 9-10:00AM Saturday in church.
