Elizabeth M Mraz

Elizabeth M. Mraz, 82, of Northampton, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem, PA. Born October 3, 1933 in New York City, New York, she was the daughter of the late John Marecek and Anna (Chebik) Marecek. She was the wife of Rev. Jerry Mraz, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage last August 27, 2015.

Elizabeth was the secretary for the Guidance office at the Northampton Area High School for 24 years before retiring in 1996. A former member of Holy Trinity Slovak Lutheran Church, and member of the Ladies Aid Society at church. She was a present member of Hope Lutheran Church, Cherryville, PA. Elizabeth contributed to her community as a former Sunday School Teacher at Holy Trinity Slovak Lutheran Church for over 37 years. She was a past board member of the former Business Professional Women''s Club, past Board of Directors of the Northampton Band Booster''s Club, and a past Board of Director of the former Northampton Exchangettes Club, all of Northampton, PA.

Surviving along with her husband are 3 daughters: Cathy Ann wife of John Kimmel of Lithia, Florida; Karen wife of Timothy Lockard of Laurys Station, Pennsylvania; Susan Edelman of Macungie, PA. A son, John Mraz of Allentown, PA. 7 Grandchildren; Meagan wife of Mark Duarte, Allison, Kayla and Fiance Brett Karan, Matthew, Douglas, Kelly, and Karly. A great-grandson, Grayson and other family members - Dale Edelman, Jr., Lee Smith and Mary Louise Drosdak. She was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Susan Macey.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Hope Lutheran Church, 4131 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville, PA 18035, with the Rev. Jami L. Possinger, Assistant Brian Rajcok, and Rev. Dr. Paul Brndjar officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the services in the church. Interment will follow the service, at Allen Union Cemetery, Northampton, PA 18067. Arrangements are under the care of the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.

Contributions: May be made in her name to the Hope Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or St. Jude''s Children''s Hospital, both in care of the funeral home.
