Elizabeth P. Steigerwalt,
94, of Palmerton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 3, 2018, at her son's home in Lehighton. Born May 30, 1924 in Palmerton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Naratil and the late Elizabeth (Burocy) Naratil. She was the wife of the late Winston A. Steigerwalt, who passed away in 1995.
Elizabeth was a graduate of the Palmerton High School Class of 1941, and the Palmerton School of Nursing Class of 1945. As a Registered Nurse, she worked in the operating room at both Palmerton Hospital and the former Allentown Osteopathic Hospital, Allentown, PA, for many years before retiring. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Palmerton. She taught health classes at Moravian Seminary and the first class of practical nursing at Jim Thorpe Vocational School. "Skipper" was a Girl Scout Leader, as well as a nurse and director at Camp Shehaqua. A member of the Palmerton Historical Society, and the Palmerton Park and Pool Association.
Survivors: Son, Kurt and wife Kathy Steigerwalt of Lehighton. Daughters, Beth Clouser of Miami, FL, and Becky Steigerwalt and husband Donald Eberwein II, of Palmerton, PA. 7 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. A special care giver and niece, Abby Rutch. She was predeceased by son, Peter Steigerwalt in 2008, a brother, Zeby Naratil, and a sister, Mickey Henning.
Services: A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 112, 2018, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 5th Street and Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. The interment is private . Arrangements are under the care of Campton Funeral Home, Inc., 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.
