Elizabeth M. Wetzel

Elizabeth M. (Nelson) Wetzel , 85, of Oak Drive, Slatington, Washington Township, formerly of Franklin Avenue, Palmerton, PA, died peacefully early Saturday morning, March 15, 2025, in her home.  She was the wife of the late Robert C. Wetzel who passed in 2014.  Born in Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late William and Marie (Hodge) Nelson.

Elizabeth was employed as a trimmer and machine operator for Paris Accessories, Walnutport, and also the former D and D Shirt Co., Northampton.  She was a member of Assumption BVM Catholic Church, Slatington, and the I.L.G.W.U.  Elizabeth enjoyed attending the Slatington Seniors Group, and the Mack Trucks Senior Group.  She enjoyed fishing with her late husband off the Jersey Shore.

Survivors: Son, Robert D. and wife Denita with whom she resided.  Daughter-in-law, Angela Wetzel of Slatington.  5 grandchildren.  7 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a son, Duane Wetzel, sister, Patricia Hawk, and a brother, Tony Hodge.
