Ellen I. (Ruch) Cole,
90, of Allentown, Lehigh County, died peacefully early Saturday morning after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease, on October 7, 2017, under the care of an amazing staff from Lehigh Valley Hospice. She was the wife of the late Donald M. Cole who passed in 2015. Born in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lizzie (Frederick) Ruch.
Ellen was employed as a registered nurse for Sacred Heart Family Practice, Allentown, until retiring in 2000. Previously, she worked for Allentown General Hospital, and the Warren Hospital, NJ. Ellen was a member of Nativity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown. A 1945 graduate of the Northampton High School, she later graduated from the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing in 1949. She was a member of the Allentown Hospital Alumnae Association, and the Lehigh Valley Parkinson's Support Group.

Daughters, Lynn wife of Theodore Lopsonzski of Orefield, Tippi wife of Thomas Williams of Bethlehem, Carol Zambelli of Kings Park, NY. Son, Donald M. and wife Kimberly of Orefield. Grandchildren, Kelli wife of Senator Jake Corman, Tom and wife Julie, Casey and wife Kristen, Michael and fiancée Jessica, Cocca, KaeDee wife of Dr. Thomas Nowakowski. 11 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Helen Odenwelder, Margaret Fogel, and Jeanette Smith. Several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Mabel Hower, brothers, William, and Franklin, and a grandson, Donald Zachary Cole.

Memorial Services, 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2017, at Nativity Lutheran Church, 4004 W. Tilghman Street, Allentown, PA 18104. Call, 12noon-1:00pm, Friday in the church.
