Elwood W. Deibert

Elwood W. Deibert, 91 formerly of Walnutport, PA died on Sat., February 4, 2017, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. Born on February 14, 1925 in Walnutport, PA, he was the son of the late Elwood and Minnie (Benninger) Deibert. He was the loving husband of the late Joyce M. (Shoemaker) Deibert for 43 years until her death in 1994. He was employed by American Nickeloid Company as an assistant shop foreman for 43 years until retiring in 1988. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Elwood was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C., Cherryville, the American Legion Post #16 in Slatington since 1959, and the Disabled American Vets.

Surviving are his son, Daryl W. Deibert and his wife Deborah of Allentown, PA, daughter, Diane L. Yanora and her husband James of Allentown, PA; three grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by five siblings.

A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wed., Feb. 8, 2017 at Schisler Funeral Home, Inc. located at 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067 with the Rev. Martin E. Nuscher officiating. Interment will be in Indianland Cemetery, Cherryville, PA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to American Legion Post #16, and/or Cedarbrook Nursing Home c/o the funeral home.
