Ernest H. Keller , Sr., 90 of Lower Nazareth Twsp., PA. passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus in Bethlehem, PA. Born September 24, 1932 in Bethlehem Twsp., PA, he was the son of the late Harold W. Keller, Sr. and the late Mary (Snyder) Keller. He was the husband of Doris E. (Gehret) Keller with whom he shared 69 years of marriage. They were married on December 12, 1953.
Ernest was last employed as a Maintenance Mechanic for Keystone Food Products, Inc., Easton, PA for 13 years before retiring in 1997. Prior to he worked in the same capacity for 10 years at the former Zinc Corp. of America, Palmerton, PA. and before that at the National Portland Cement Co. Nazareth, PA.
Ernest was a member of Dryland U.C.C. Church, Lower Nazareth. In his earlier years he enjoyed bowling at the Jacksonian Club in Nazareth, Bar-Don Lanes in Easton and the Bath Legion. He was a former member of the Lower Nazareth Rod & Gun Club and he was a Life member of the American Legion Post #415 in Nazareth. He served his country honorably as a Seaman Apprentice in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors: Surviving along with his wife Doris are daughter, Debra E. Tenges and husband Timm, son, Ronald A. Keller and wife Lugene, daughter, Laura A Vilasi, son, Ernest H. Keller, Jr. and wife Julie, all of Nazareth, son, James M. Keller, Sr. and wife Terry Anne of Bethlehem, son, Bruce D. Keller and wife Jacqueline of Winston-Salem, NC, sisters, JoAnne Creyer and husband Richard and Harriet Boehmer both of Bethlehem and Claire Hahn of Fort Collins, CO; 14 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren. He was predeceased by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Services: A Funeral service with military honors will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday August 24 2023 at Dryland U.C.C., 4415 Newburg Road Nazareth, PA 18064 with the Rev. Edward Livingston officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the services in the church. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, has been entrusted with his care and service.
