Ethel A. (Costenbader) Ashner, 97, of Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania, and Fort Myers, Florida, died Wednesday evening, February 1, 2017, at Weatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was the wife of the late Curtis A. Ashner, Sr.  Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Allen A. and Ruth R. (Reinhardt) Costenbader.

Ethel was the owner/operator of the former Idylwilde Gifts and Ceramics, Lake Harmony, in Kidder Township.  She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Aquashicola.  Ethel was a former Palmerton Girl Scout Leader who participated in international trips, and she also enjoyed teaching ceramics classes.

Survivors:  Daughter, Janice A. wife of Peter Steele of Stroudsburg, PA.  Son, Curtis A. Ashner, with whom she resided.  3 grandchildren, Tamara Chaize of Cary, North Carolina, Tania Steele-Kirsch of Beacon, New York, and Peter B. Steele of Lafayette, Colorado.  5 great-grandchildren, Lauren, Leigha and Alexis Chaize, and Isabella and Miles Kirsch.  Nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy, and Mildred, and a brother, Bruce.

Services:  Graveside Services, 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2017 * , at Towamensing Cemetery, 3rd Street and Fireline Road, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Arrangements are by Campton Funeral Home, Inc., 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. ( * Due to severe weather issues, services were rescheduled to Friday).

Contributions may be made in her memory to the Salem United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 4145 Forest Inn Road, Aquashicola, PA 18012.
