Ethel F. Harakal

Ethel F. Harakal , 92 of Whitehall, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network in Bethlehem, PA. Born September 29, 1931 in Whitehall, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael Palansky and the late Ann (Yakubecek) Palansky. She was the wife of the late George L. Harakal, Sr. who passed away in January 2005.

Ethel was last employed as a Fitter for the former Cross Country Clothes, Northampton, PA for 32 years before retiring in 1992. She was a life long member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Whitehall, PA where she was also an active member of the church's newsletter committee. Ethel also enjoyed volunteering her time with the Northern Valley Ambulance Center- Kitchen Crew, N.Whitehall Twsp., PA.

She is survived by her sons, George L. Harakal, Jr. and wife Amy of Venetia, PA and Dennis K. Harakal and wife Cindy of Whitehall, PA, brother, Edwin Palansky and Companion Nancy Mondrick of Walnutport, PA; 5 grandchildren; Justin, Jeremy, Matthew, Jordan, and Travis,  5 great - grandchildren; Lily, Nicholas, Nathan, Clayton, and Robert. She was predeceased by brother, William Palansky and sisters, Margaret Palansky and Ann E. Hricinak.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday September 27, 2024 at Shepherd Of The Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St. Whitehall, PA 18052 with the Rev. James W. Schlegel officiating. Family and friend may call from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to services in the church.  Interment will follow Privately for the family in Egypt Cemetery, Whitehall Twp, PA. Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067 has been entrusted with her care and services.

Contributions: May be made to the Church Memorial fund or the Northern Valley E.M.S. Center both c/o the funeral home.
