Fern I. Hawk
August 14, 1930 — November 29, 2018
Fern I. (Schaffer) Hawk, 88, formerly of Whitehall, passed away on November 29, 2018, in At Home At Parkland, Schnecksville.
She was the beloved wife of Edward D. Hawk, Sr., who passed away in June of 2005; they were married on June 18, 1949. Born in Cementon, she was the daughter of the late Samuel H. and Eva M. (Klinesmith) Schaffer.
Fern worked as an Avon representative for over 25 years. She was a faithful member of St. Paul's U.C.C. in Northampton. She spent many years as a member of the ladies auxiliary and frequently volunteered by baking pies for various events at the church.
Fern is survived by son, Edward D. Hawk, Jr. and wife, Cathy, Slatington; daughter, Kathy M., wife of Harry J. Keefer, Whitehall; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by eight siblings.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by an 11:00 am funeral service on Monday, December 3, 2018, all at the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. Interment will follow in Allen Union Cemetery, Northampton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church in care of the funeral home.
