Florence D. Snyder, 90 peaceably went to be with the Lord on Friday November 25, 2016, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. A former resident of Allentown and Weston Senior Living, Emmaus, daughter of the late Clayton
A. and Mary M. (Ziegenfus) Dorward, and wife of the late George David Snyder for 62 years. A graduate of Allentown High School and West Chester State Teachers College majoring in math and music education. She taught full time in the ASD and later substituted for over 30 years. Florence was a certified Associate in Ministry (AIM) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church for 46 years. She was a long time member of the former St James Lutheran Church
(Allentown) serving as church organist, choir director, superintendent of VBS, a member of church council, Sunday school teacher, and Young-at-Heart pianist. Present member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, she served as organist, choir director, director of music for choir camp, and retiring as organist emeritus. She loved taking photos of family and was never without her camera or tape recorder. The family looked forward to their yearly phone call with her singing Happy Birthday. She served as president of the Ziegenfuss/Ziegenfus family reunion for several years. Survivors: son, George Daniel Snyder, daughter, Nancy A. wife of George Myers both of Allentown, PA; daughter, Janice A. Monroe of Germansville, PA; sister, Mrs. Jean Smoyer of Allentown, PA. 3- Grandchildren: Kari (Josh) Woodland, Christopher Monroe, Eric (Amy) Monroe; 6 Great-Grandchildren: Maya and Alexandra Woodland,
Landen and Cameron Monroe, Jordan and Logan Monroe; Nieces and Nephew, and Cousin Paul Robert Ziegenfus.
She was predeceased by brother, James Dorward. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday December 2, 2016 at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road Allentown, Pennsylvania 18103. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the services in the church. Interment will follow in Western Salisbury Cemetery Assoc., Salisbury Twsp., PA.
