Florence E. Silliman

Florence E. Silliman , 90, of Palmerton, PA, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem.  Born May 11, 1934 in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Hilda (Eckhart) Eckhart, and wife of the late Charles D. Silliman.

Florence received a BS in Elementary Education from East Stroudsburg State Teacher's College, and taught kindergarten and first grade in the Coopersburg area in the late 1950's.  She was a 4-H Leader and an active member of the Little Gap Grange as well as an active volunteer of the Palmerton CAC PAC.  She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Aquashicola, where she was a pianist and Bell Plate Choir Director.

Survivors: She is survived by daughter, Rev. Heidi M. Silliman and partner Karen Ronay of Lebanon.  Sons, David C. and wife Donna Silliman of Bethlehem, and Timothy S. Silliman of Slatington.  Brother, Paul and wife Andrea Eckhart of Bradington, FL.  She was predeceased by brothers, Richart Eckhart, Franklin Eckhart, and Delbert Eckhart, and sister, Ellamae Moyer.

Services: The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service, all on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Salem United Methodist Church, 4145 Forest Inn Road, Aquashicola.  Online Condolences: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
