Francis E. Bilder

Francis E. Bilder, 80 of Whitehall, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Salisbury Township.

Born July 20, 1941 in Allentown, he was the son of the late Francis J. Bilder and Ellen (Wagner) Lakits and predeceased by his step-father Joseph Lakits. He and his wife Carol A. (Peters) Bilder were married on February 11, 1967.

He was a self employed electrician and locksmith for many years before retiring. He honorably served in the US Army during Vietnam and was a member of the American Legion, Post 739.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Francis J. and wife Terri Bilder of Whitehall, Keith R. and wife Kim Bilder of Hokendauqua, Jon P. and wife Sheri Bilder of Hokendauqua, and Mark L. and wife Michelle Bilder of Catasauqua, daughter, Michele M. Walters of Whitehall, sisters, Bernadette Stangl of Coplay, Carol Henninger of Slatington, and Beverly Lakits of Northampton, 18 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2022 and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, January 14, 2022, all at the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton. A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January, 14, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Whitehall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Francis' name to the Lehigh County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
