Frank T. Johannes, Jr., 88, of Columbia Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died Thursday afternoon, August 19, 2021, at VNA Hospice House at St. Luke's, Bethlehem.  He was the husband of Patricia A. (Zeiser) Johannes since November 26, 1960.  Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Frank T., Sr. and Vilma (Partel) Johannes.

Frank was employed by the Palmerton Area School District as a social studies teacher, football and basketball coach, and athletic director, retiring in 1996 after 37 years.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton.  A 1951 graduate of the Palmerton High School, he later graduated from East Stroudsburg State Teachers College.  Frank served in the Army, Europe during the Korea Era, and achieved the rank of Corporal.  An avid sports enthusiast and Penn State Fan, he enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events over the years.  He enjoyed golf and was a member of the former Blue Ridge Country Club, and bowling at the Sokol Hall, Palmerton.  Frank had a wonderful sense of humor, he cherished his time spent with his family and friends, and thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas Season decorating his home.

Survivors: Wife.  Daughters, Pamela Jane wife of John Andrews, and Milissa A. wife of Jim Hay, all of Palmerton.  Son, Frank E. and wife Amy of Fogelsville.  8 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kelsey, Ben, Matthew, Kacie, Eric, Spencer, and Drew.  2 great-grandsons, Andrew and Alexander.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 28, 2021, Sacred Heart Church, 243 Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Call, 8:30-10:00 a.m., Saturday in church.
