Frederick J. Gerlach

Frederick J. Gerlach, 78 of Northampton-Lehigh Twsp.,PA. passed away on Wednesday July 20, 2016, at Lehigh
Valley Hospice-Inpatient Unit in Allentown, PA. Born Tuesday, May 10, 1938 in Saucon Valley, PA, he was the son
of the late Edwin Gerlach and Helen (Kochis) Gerlach. He was the husband of Theresa (Sodl) Gerlach, with whom
he shared 41 years of marriage last October 24, 2015.
Frederick was a 1958 graduate of Liberty High School who excelled at football as a tight end. He was an Oxygraph
Burner for the former Beth Corp. of Bethlehem for 10 years until retiring in 2000. Prior to Beth Corp. he worked in the
same capacity for the former Lauria Steel Supply Co. of Bethlehem, PA. for 30 years. He also owned and operated
Fred's Lot Cutting for 40 years. He attended St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Whitehall, PA. In his spare time he
enjoyed making his own wine.
Surviving along with his wife, are son, Scott Gerlach of East Meadow, NY, daughter, Lisa M. Gerlach of
Northampton, PA, brother, William Gerlach and wife Margaret of Fogelsville, PA, sister, Marie wife of Earl Shreer of
Bethlehem, PA. He was predeceased by 3 brothers; Donald, John, and Robert.
Funeral Services will be held at 5:00pm Saturday July 23, 2016 at the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington
Avenue, Northampton, PA. 18067 The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM prior to the services.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
