Gary R. Mortimer

Gary R. Mortimer , 84, of Palmerton, Carbon County, formerly of Western PA, and Sebastian, FL, died peacefully early Monday morning, September 9, 2024, in his home.  He was the husband of Carol J. (Johnson) Mortimer since August 24, 1963.  Born in Oil City, Venango County, he was a son of the late Clair B. and Irene (Long) Mortimer.

Gary was employed as a Corporal in the PA State Police, Hershey Barracks, for over 25 years, retiring in 1993.  He was a member of United Methodist Church, Sebastian, FL.  An Air Force Veteran, Vietnam Era, he achieved the rank of A1C E-4.

Survivors: Wife.  Daughters, Catherine wife of Jeffrey D. Moser of Slatington, and Pamela wife of Barry Fasnacht of Ephrata.  Son, Harold and fiancee, Jeanne Greene of Norman, OK.  3 grandchildren, Samantha, Zachary, and Colton.  2 great-grandchildren, Avery, and Skylar.  1 nephew.  He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald.
