Gary Charles, "Shorty" Neff

Gary Charles "Shorty" Neff , 70 of Barnesville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at his residence in Barnesville, PA. Born July 13, 1954 in Lehighton, PA, he was the son of the late Herman Neff and the late Dolores (Silfies) Neff. He was the loving husband to Christine B. Miller who had previously passed away.

Shorty received his high school diploma while in the Army.  He was deployed and fought during the Vietnam War.  After being Honorably discharged, he came home to work at Lehighton Hospital for a number a of years as an orderly.  Shorty then changed career paths and worked in construction for 15 years before retiring in 2011. In his free time, Shorty enjoyed fishing, gambling, and playing scratch-offs. He was an avid Eagles fan, a member of The Soko Club of Nesquehoning, and The Lehighton & Lansford Legions.

Survivors : caretaker Melinda Mokshefski and companion Tim Collins, son, Shawn M. Neff, daughter, Bethann M. Neff, brothers, Brian D. Neff of Lehighton, PA, Nicholas A. Neff and Wife Brenda of Lehighton, PA and Michael J. Neff of Lehighton, PA, sister, Michelle Kromer and husband Eugene grandchildren, Shelby, Pryce and Payzlee Neff, and Priscilla and Penelope Ahner. He was predeceased by sister, Elizabeth Kistler, and an infant brother .

A Funeral Service will be announced at a later date, Miller Funeral Home, Lehighton, PA, has been entrusted with his care.

Memorial Contributions made be made in his memory to the Miller Funeral Home, to go toward funeral costs.
