Gayle F. Eckhart

Gayle F. Eckhart, 76, of Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at the Summit at Blue Mountain Health Systems, Lehighton. Born June 6, 1940 in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late Valen A. and Marian L. (Serfass) Remaly, and the wife of Delbert L. Eckhart.
She worked as a Customer Service Representative for Blue Ridge Communications, Lehighton, for twelve years before retiring in 2004. After retiring, she volunteered at the Owl's Nest at Palmerton Hospital and the Nearly New Shop in Palmerton. She was a member of the Little Gap Grange #1882 for over forty years. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bowmanstown, where she served as the Treasurer for over forty years as well as singing in the choir since childhood. Gayle enjoyed bus trips with her family and friends to various parts of the country.
In addition to her husband Delbert, she is survived by daughter, Heather A. wife of Gregory Bendokus of Lansford and a brother, Barry Remaly of Palmerton.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 519 Hamilton Street, Bowmanstown, PA 18030. Officiating will be the Rev. Dennis R. Schappell.
Interment will be in Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery, Trachsville.
