George J. Beechay, Jr.,
84, of Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, Pennsylvania, died Friday afternoon, February 2, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital - Palmerton Campus. He was the husband of the late Ella O. (Winkler) Wolfe-Beechay who passed in 2011. Born in Mauch Chunk, he was a son of the late George J., Sr. and Mary H. (Andera) Beechay.
George was employed as a Power Engineer for the former New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton, for 48 years, retiring in 2005. A graduate of the Mauch Chunk High School, he served his country honorably in the Army, Korea Era, and later graduated from Penn State University Hazleton Center in engineering. After retirement, George enjoyed consulting with the Palmer Water Company, the Chestnut Ridge Railroad, and was instrumental in the raising of the railroad trestle bridge, Delaware Avenue, in Palmerton. George was a member and volunteer for the Palmerton Area Historical Society.
Survivors:
Daughters, Sharon A. Wolfe of Littleton, Colorado, Susan L. Redshaw of Palmerton, Roberta A. Earl of Winter Haven, Florida. Son, E. Robert Wolfe, II, of Wichita, Kansas. 7 grandchildren. 11 great-grandchildren. Sister, Mary McGeehin of Sugarloaf. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Edward J. in 1975, and Joseph M. in 2012.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Campton Funeral Home, Inc., 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment is
