George D. Seyfried

George D. Seyfried, 86 of N. Catasauqua, PA passed away on May 25, 2018, at his home. Born on February 8, 1932 in W. Catasauqua, PA, he was the son of the late Paul G.D. Seyfried and the late Catherine C. (Schwindenhammer) Seyfried. He was the husband of the late MaryAnn (Motsko) Seyfried who passed away in December 1997.
George was last employed by the former Durkee Foods of Bethlehem, PA as a production Line forklift operator for 5 years until retiring in 1996. Prior to that he worked for the Fuller CO. of Catasauqua, PA, in Assembly and Shipping from 1973-1983. Before that, he was a Driver / Salesman for the former Lehigh Valley Dairy, Allentown from 1956-1973. He attended Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Whitehall, PA, He was a member of the Egypt V.F.W. Post# 7293, Whitehall, PA. He loved bicycling and was known to cover many miles throughout the greater Lehigh Valley. George served his country honorably during the Korean War earning the rank of Private.
Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Leona Groman of N. Catasauqua, PA, Mrs. Catherine Bogarosh of Schnecksville, PA, and Mrs. Agnes Bodnar of Northampton, PA. Many Nieces & Nephews and Great Nieces and Great Nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Paul Seyfried.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday May 31, 2018 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton PA 18067. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the services. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Andrews R.C. Church Cemetery, N. Catasauqua, PA.
Memorial contributions may be offered in his memory to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial fund c/o the funeral home.
