Gerald "Poncho" H. George, 76, of Franklin Avenue, Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died early Tuesday morning, November 22, 2016, in his home. Born in Aquashicola, he was a son of the late Clayton H. and Alvesta G. (Kleintop) George.
Gerald worked in general labor for the former NJ Zinc Company, Palmerton, for many years. An avid automobile enthusiast, he enjoyed drag racing, mechanics, and attending demolition derby's. Gerald also liked to snowmobile, and hunt.
Survivors: Sons, Lonnie L. and wife Gayle, Ronnie L. and wife Lori, Joel S., all of Palmerton. Grandchildren, Derek and wife Sarah, Darin and paramour Kelsey Wright. Great-granddaughter, Braelyn. Sisters, Janet J. wife of George Green of Beltzville, Beverly A. Compton of Dudley, NC. Daughter-in-law, Angie George of Palmerton. Nieces and nephews. Granddog, longhaired dachshund, Cali.
Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Campton Funeral Home, Inc., 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 9:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday in the funeral home. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael Frost.
Interment will be at Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery, Trachsville, PA.
