Gerald M. "Jerry" Keltz , 93 of East Allen Township,passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. Born June 12, 1931 in Tannersville, he was the son of the late Harry and Minnie (Newhart) Keltz and husband of the late Mildred (Mellor) Keltz.
After a 40 year career in electronics and computers, Jerry retired in 1989 and returned to his first love, the world of nature. He was a member of the Tannersville Bog Committee for many years and has documented, in photographs, a year of the Bog. Jerry has also photographed the land protected by The Nature Conservancy in the Long Pond, PA area. Raised in Pocono Township, Jerry has traveled the world since retirement, photographing the animals and scenic beauty of such places as India, China, and Australia. He also constructed his own picture frames from native and recycled material. He honorably served in the US Air Force.
He is survived by daughters, Gail A. wife of Allen Reaser of Northampton, and Sharon L. wife of David Stettler of Jim Thorpe, companion, Sarah Landis, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother, William Keltz, sisters, Mildred Sandt, Edith Brong and Phyllis Rinker.
Services: The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a 2:00 PM Funeral Service, all on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church - Kreidersville, 1335 Old Carriage Road, Northampton, PA. A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Nature Conservancy or the Church, both in care of the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.
