Gerald B. Neff, 81 of Northampton, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus in Bethlehem, PA. Born April 11, 1940 in Neffs, PA, he was the son of the late Floyd E. Neff and the late Rachel B. (Klotz) Neff. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Schaeffer) Neff with whom he shared 58 years of marriage this past December 7, 2021.
Gerald was a 1958 graduate of the Allentown High School who earned a position with with Sunshine Biscuits Co. of Allentown, as he transitioned through his 37 years he ended his working career with Kellogg's foods, Allentown as district manager in 2002. Gerald was an active member of St. John's U.C.C. Church, Northampton, and he enjoyed helping with the serving when the church would offer the dinners. He was known for starting the Biddy Baseball traveling League through the Northampton Athletic Association, Northampton, PA, He coached Junior Bowling for both the Coplay American club, and Hampton Lanes, Northampton for many years. He also bowled with the Sunday Mixers at the Allentown Rose Bowl for years. He worked the chain gang for years for the Northampton Football Games as the clip man. He loved the game of golf and achieved a hole in one at the Whitetail Golf course. In the 90's he golfed as a member of the Grocers League. Gerald served his country as a SP4 in the Army from 1960 to 1963.
Surviving along with his wife Patricia are son, Scott A. Neff of San Diego, CA, daughter, Denise L. Skrapits of Northampton, PA, brother, Donald F. Neff of Macungie, PA; 2 Grandsons, Jordan Skrapits, and Michael Ettl.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday January 12, 2022 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 22 Atlas Road Northampton, PA 18067. The family will receive friends Tuesday January 11, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA 18067 and Wed. January 12, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the church. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown, PA.
