Grace E. Meyers, 90, of Walnutport, PA, formerly of Bixby, OK, passed away on Wednesday December 30, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born January 8, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Karl J. Miltenberger, Sr. and Grace E. (Newns) Miltenberger. She was the wife of the late Robert A. Meyers who died in 2013.

Grace was a Nursing Educator employed by Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Bartlesville, OK. for many years before retiring in 2013. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Mankato State University, MN; her master's degree in nursing from Oklahoma University, OK; and her PhD in theology from International Bible University, Tulsa, OK.  She was an ordained minister. Grace was a member Calvary Messianic Congregation, Tulsa, OK and a member of the Gospel Chapel Church, Northampton, PA.

Grace served her country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.  She was a charter member of the Albert E. Schwab Detachment #857 in Tulsa, OK, and remained an active member until her move to Pennsylvania.  She served as chaplain. She was the first woman to serve as commandant of the Marine Corps League, Department of Oklahoma. She was selected Detachment Marine of the Year and Department Marine of the Year.  Grace was instrumental in the formation of the Oklahoma Pack of Devil Dogs. As a Pedigree Devil Dog, she was Past Green Country Grunts Pound Keeper, Past Oklahoma Pack Leader, and Past Vice Chief Devil Dog, Southern Division.  She was an active member of the Women Marine Association, member of the American Legion Post #95, Tulsa, OK, and member of the Marine Corps League Northampton County Detachment #298.

Surviving are daughters, Grace E. wife of Larry Myers of Walnutport, PA, Elizabeth A. wife of Sean Gilligan and Karla L. wife of Christopher McGill both of Milford, DE; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughters, Rose Emma Olsen, and Mary Frances Spears, brother, Karl J. Miltenberger, Jr., and grandson Joshua C. Meis.

A funeral service for the family will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service. The Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA. 18067 has been entrusted with her service and care. Interment will take place at 12:30 PM on Monday, January 11, 2021, in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. The public is asked to continue to follow social distancing guidelines including the wearing of facial coverings.
