Grace G. Walp

Grace G. (Schaffer) Walp, 94 of Bethlehem, formerly of Catasauqua, PA, passed peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. Born September 3, 1923 in Northampton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Henry Schaffer and the late Edith (Trumbauer) Schaffer-Becker and Step-daughter to the late Herbert Becker. She was the wife of the late Albert A. Walp who passed away in 1987.

Grace was homemaker all her life caring for her family, and worked at the Ribbon Mill, and cleaned at the Universal Pants and Clyde Shirt Co., Northampton. Grace resided in Catasauqua most of her life, and later lived at the Bridge St. High Rise in Catasauqua from the time it opened. Grace was an avid Phillies Fan, Iron Pigs fan, loved playing bingo, going to the casino, lottery tickets, cash 5, candy, and TV reruns.

Surviving are son, Charles E. Walp and wife Treistina of Bethlehem, PA, daughter, Susan wife of James Hirner of Catasauqua, PA, grandsons, Erik, Joshua, and Michael, and granddaughters: Megan and Jamie. A greatgranddaughter, Olivia and great-grandson Rowan.

A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday February 23, 2018 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA. 18067. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Allentown, PA. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM prior to the services.
