Harl Yves Gardiner

Born: June 4, 1953, Died: November 28, 2021

Harl was born in New Orleans, the beloved son of Harvey V. Gardiner and Ocea Fontenot Gardiner and raised in Opelousas, LA.  After high school, he attended LSU and later graduated from the University of Houston Conrad V. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management. Harl held several management positions in New York City and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico working for the Ritz Carlton and the Hotel Dorset.  Later in life he established both a wholesale flower and an event planning company, both in New York City.  But Harl always had a passion for the water, having been on the swim team at LSU, he later started Cyber Scuba to teach diving to individuals which led to planning dive trips all over the world. For nearly 2 decades, Harl had a close relationship with Dutch Springs Aqua Park In Bethlehem, PA. Between Cyber Scuba and Dutch Springs, Harl spent many wonderful years doing what he loved and made countless friends along the way.

Harl was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his brother, Kim Gardiner of Baton Rouge, LA, his nephew Chris of Mandeville, LA, and numerous cousins.  Harl also leaves behind a multitude of associates and loving friends from coast to coast and around the world.

A special acknowledgement and thanks to those who were with Harl assisting him immensely in his final months - Kim Gardiner, Linda Knorr, Patti Perron, Bryan Youpa and Chris Youpa.

We also wish to thank the doctors and staff of Northwell Lenox Hill Hospital, especially Dr David Posner, and Hospice of New York, especially Johnathon his Hospice RN, for their compassionate care and support.

A calling hour will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM EST followed by a 7:00 PM EST memorial service, all on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 East Center Street, Nazareth, PA.  A zoom virtual memorial will begin at 7pm EST, access the link @ Zoom.us and enter the ID number 958 245 3521.  Please join in the celebration of Harl's life.

JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) an organization he faithfully supported for the last 29 years, in honor of his goddaughter, Melina Calabrese who battles Type 1 diabetes every day.
