Helen (Yasson) Tergo
, 97, formerly of Palmerton, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday evening, June 13, 2017, at Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton. She was the wife of the late Stephen J. Tergo who passed in 1992. Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late John and Theodosia (Makowitch) Yasson.
Helen was employed in custodial services for the former New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. Helen enjoyed spending time with family, especially the grandchildren, playing bingo, and attending casino bus trips.
Survivors: Daughter, Susanne E. wife of Dwayne Smith of East Penn Township. 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. 1 great-great-granddaughter. Several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter, Jean Stahler in 2002, and a son, Stephen in 2011, and 9 sisters/brothers.
Services: Private Graveside Services. Interment will be at Sacred Heart New Cemetery, Stoney Ridge Road, Palmerton. Arrangements are by Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.
Contributions: May be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, Carbon-Tamaqua Unit, 101 W. Frack Street, Frackville, PA 17931.
