Henry W. Piper

Henry W. Piper, 83 of Lehigh Township, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at his home.Born October 15, 1942 in Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Gerald and Rebecca (Richards) Piper. He and his loving wife Ruth E. (Reiter) Piper were married on October 10, 1997.

Henry worked at the Bethlehem Steel Co. for thirty years, retiring in 1996 as an industrial analysist. He honorably served his country in the US Army, and in the National Guard for 22 years. Hank was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had a passion for hunting and also enjoyed refinishing furniture. He will be remembered as a hard worker, always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a great sense of humor, leaving many happy memories for those who loved him best.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Thomas Piper and wife Elizabeth of Allentown, Theodore Piper of Florida, and Timothy Piper of Louisiana, step-sons, Charles Knechel of Northampton, Kyle Knechel and Nicole of Walnutport, Jeremy Knechel and Kim of Bechtelsville, and Benjamin Knechel and Laura of Williamstown, PA, brother, John Piper and wife Penny of Easton, and 6 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Fitzroy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30am on August 13, 2026, at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067 with the Rev. Michael Coulson officiating. Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of service.
