Hilda Bendekovits

Hilda Bendekovits, 89 of Northampton, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2017, at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth, PA. Born December 13, 1927 in Coplay, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert Kurtz, Sr. and Hattie (Yost) Kurtz. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Bendekovits who passed away in August 2011.

Hilda was employed by the former Fernbrook Sportswear / Regal Sportswear, Northampton as a Presser / Table worker for 30 years before retiring in 1990. A member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, Northampton where she was also an active member of the Young at Heart Group for many years.

Survivors: She is survived by her son, Mark Bendekovits of Northampton, daughter, Barbara A. wife of Robert Wagner of Walnutport, PA, brother, Robert Kurtz and wife Ronnie of Coplay; 2 Grandchildren: Jennifer Batz and Bryan Wagner and his wife Candis; 2 Great-Grandchildren: Korin and Aiden. She was predeceased by brother, Albert Kurtz, Jr. in 2009.

Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Friday October 27, 2017 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 22nd & Washington Ave., Northampton, PA 18067 with the Rev. Msgr. Thomas P. Koons officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the Mass, at Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA. 18067.
