Hilda Mercedes Chevalier

Hilda Mercedes Chevalier, 84, formerly of Kissimmee, Florida, died peacefully, Thursday evening September 7, 2017, at her daughters home in Kunkletown, Towamensing Township, Carbon County, Pennsylvania.  She was the wife of the late Antonio, Sr., who passed last December.  Born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Julio and Modesta (Morales) Lopez.

Hilda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.  She attended Pleasant Valley Assembly of God, Brodheadsville.  An avid sports enthusiast, she especially enjoyed baseball and the NY Mets.  Hilda enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and swimming, remembering fondly the rivers, and oceans of her homeland.  She was very proud to be an American, and loved to view the Statue of Liberty.

Survivors: daughter, Cynthia A. Chevalier and fiancé Tom Mergen with whom she resided.  5 sons, Antonio, Jr. and wife Elaine of Suwanee, Georgia, Robert and wife Lori of Lancaster, California, Martin and wife Charlotte of Whitehall, Louis of Bay Shore, New York, Steven of Saint Cloud, Florida.  12 Grandchildren.  17 Great-grandchildren.  Sister, Blanca.  2 brothers, Louis and Tito.  She was predeceased by grandson, Chief Msgt. Peter Chevalier, USAF in 2016.
