Howard A. Shimer, 84 of Bath, PA, died on Sunday, February 28, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus in Bethlehem, PA. Born August 14, 1936 in Nazareth, PA, he was the son of the late Attny. Charles L. Shimer and the late Marion C. (Schaeffer) Shimer. He was the husband of the late Janice Lou (Streitenberger) Shimer who passed away January 2001.
Howard was a graduate of Nazareth High School, who went on to further his education and earn a Bachelors Degree in Education. Howard worked for the Easton School District as a Special Education Teacher for 23 years before retiring in 1983. Howard was a life member of St. John's U.C.C. Church, Nazareth, who was very active serving as former Consistory member, counting committee, church and property, Stephens minister along with others. He was a former Nazareth Rotarian and a former Nazareth Lions Club member.
Howard is survived by a son, Grant A. Shimer of Bethlehem, 3 Step-Sons, Richard A. Dentner and wife Donna of Nazareth, Michael P. Dentner and wife Tina of Lansdale, Dale A. Dentner and wife Jacqueline of Downingtown PA; 6 grandchildren, and a niece and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Conrad C. Shimer in1996.
Graveside services at Greenwood Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the guidance of Bartholomew-Schisler funeral home, Nazareth, PA.
