Ilse M. Goedtel

Ilse M. Goedtel, 87, of Bethlehem, PA, originally from Forest Hills, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus in Bethlehem, PA. Born July 14, 1939, in Rieg, Yugoslavia, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Erma (Broune) Furer.

Ilse was last employed part-time in the café at the Moravian Bookshop in Bethlehem. Previously, she worked for 10 years as office manager for her son’s auto body shop, New Concept Collisions, in Flushing, NY. Ilse loved volunteering and was a very active member of the “Busy Workers” group at Central Moravian Church in Bethlehem. She was also an avid gardener who loved spending time outdoors among her plants.

She is survived by her daughter, Micheale L. Frisse of Nazareth, PA; her son, Gregory W. Goedtel of Los Angeles, CA; and two grandsons, James and Jack Frisse. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald C. Goedtel, in 2013, and her sister, Helga Knaus, in 2024.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, Nazareth, PA, has been entrusted with her care and arrangements.
