Ira J. Snyder , 93, of Lehighton, PA, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg, Bethlehem.  Born March 5, 1931 in Lehighton, Ira was the son of the late Willoughby and Eva (Knecht) Snyder.  He married his high school sweetheart, Yvonne (Leikel) Snyder in 1951.  They were married 68 years when she passed away in 2020.

Ira was a 1949 graduate of Lehighton High School.  He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard for 12 years.  Ira was employed for many years in the insurance industry.  Over the years, he worked for Home Life Insurance, Blue Ridge Pressure Castings, Fisher Insurance Agency, and Palmerton Auto.  He was a member of the Lehighton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for many years where he served as an elder.  He enjoyed traveling, camping at Promised Land State Park, watching the Boston Bruins and spending time with his family.  He was very generous.  He was always happy.  We will miss his wit and his sense of humor.

Survivors: Daughter, Ann D. wife of David Wenger of Bethlehem.  Son, Fred L. and wife Georgette of Whitehall.  6 grandchildren, Natalie, Tanya, Jihan, Jessica, Matthew, and Abigail.  10 great-grandchildren.  Brother, Roy of Lehighton.  He was predeceased by brothers, Howard Snyder, and Arthur Snyder.

Services: Family, friends and others whose lives Ira touched are invited to the Nazareth Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2372 Yost Road, Bath, PA 18014, on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. for a Memorial Service.  Please come to reminisce, grieve, support each other, and to hear about the hope that Ira held so dear.  For those that cannot attend in person please contact a member of the family for Zoom information.  Arrangements, Miller Funeral Home, Lehighton.  Online Condolences: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
