Irene "Oma" (Eingartner) Kociuba , 101, of Green Mount Drive, Effort, Chestnuthill Twp., Monroe County, PA, formerly of Passaic, NJ, died peacefully Friday evening in Bartonsville, Pocono Twp. She was the wife of the late Orest Kociuba who passed in 2006. Born in Munich, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Jakob and Magdalena (Huber) Eingartner.
Irene was employed by the Beth Israel Hospital, Passaic, NJ, as an aide and in the custodial dept. for over 17 years. She was a member of St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Palmerton, and also attended Our Lady Queen of Peace RC Church, Brodheadsville. She became a nurse with the Red Cross in Europe prior to moving to America in 1956. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband and tending to her garden at home.
Survivors: Daughter, Susanne wife of Michael Robinson of Bartonsville. 6 grandchildren. 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter, Ulrike Natalka Perdomo in 2011, son Roman in 2021, and sisters, Gertraud Luise Kubler, and Eleanore.
Services: 11:30AM Friday, July 26, 2024, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Visitation 10:30-11:30AM Friday in the funeral home. Interment, St. Vladimir's Lower Cemetery, Fireline Road, Palmerton. Online Condolences: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
