Irene M. Ritter

Irene M. "Nana" Ritter, 95 of Whitehall, PA. formerly of Northampton-Allen Twsp., PA. passed away Sunday,February 25, 2018, at Fellowship Community, Whitehall. Born May 9, 1922 in Northampton, she was the daughter of the late Albert H. and Ella C. (Greene) Beichey, and the wife of the late Alfred W. Ritter who passed away in 1997.
Irene was last employed as a Marker in the marking room for J.C. Penny, Whitehall for 10 years before retiring in 1986. After retiring she worked with children at Kurious Kids, in Whitehall doing what she loved, cooking for the children and rocking babies. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Whitehall-Egypt, PA.
She is survived by a son, Thomas S. Ritter and wife Lorraine of Whitehall, PA, daughter; Judith wife of Walter Humphreys of Atlanta, GA; sister, Jane A. Miller of Bethlehem, PA; 5 Grandchildren: Valerie, Alison, Sandra, Donna, and Thomas, 11 Great-Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Janice, a grandson; Christopher, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 3, 2018 at Shepherd Of The Hills Lutheran Church-Egypt, 4331 Main St. Whitehall, PA. 18052 with the Rev. James W. Schlegel officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the church prior to the services. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery-Allen Township, PA.
