James D. Burnhauser, 86, of Bake Oven Road, Germansville, Heidelberg Township, Pennsylvania, died peacefully, Thursday afternoon, January 19, 2017, in his home.  He was the husband of Romaine "Betsy" L. (Bollinger) Burnhauser, since October 31, 1953.  Born in East Mauch Chunch, PA, he was a son of the late Wade M. Burnhauser and Maude (Bartholomew) Burnhauser-Bamberger.
James was employed as a foreman/electrician for Orlando Diefenderfer Electric, Allentown, for 40 years, retiring in 1991.  He was a member of Local #375, Electricians Union, Allentown.  James was a member of the United "Church of God, Bethlehem Congregation, Hellertown.
James served in the Navy, Korea Era, achieving the rank of SA.  He was a member of the Palmerton Area Historical Society, and formerly served on the board.  James volunteered restoring and being the caretaker of "The Little White Church", Palmerton.  He enjoyed skiing, bowling, playing with children, and spending time with family.
Survivors: Wife, Romaine.  Daughter, Rebecca E. wife of James Beidelman of New Tripoli.  Son, Jeremiah G. and wife Linda M. Burnhauser of Germansville.  7 grandchildren, Janell, Elizabeth, Rachel, Jeremiah M., Elias, Emily, and Amanda.  13 great-grandchildren.  Sister, Janet wife of Allen Mertz of Danielsville.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by sister, Jane, and brothers, Wade, Eugene, Frederick, and Harry.
Services: Memorial Services with Military Honors , 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Little White Church, 3rd Street and Columbia Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Officiating will be Rev. Aaron Creech and Rev. LeRoy Cole.
The interment will be private , at Middle Creek Cemetery, Dorshimer Road, Polk Township, PA.
