James F. Fies, 77, of Mountain View Mobile Home Park, Walnutport, Lehigh Township, Pennsylvania, died Sunday afternoon, October 23, 2016, in his home. He was the husband of Joanne C. (Gingrich) Fies since July 15, 1961. Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late James E. and Mary (Cox) Fies.
James was employed for 32 years retiring in 1998, by the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation, as a foreman at the Bethlehem Site, and as an ore handler at the Cornwall Site.
Survivors: Wife, Joanne. Daughters, Kelly R. wife of Terry Steward of Lehighton, Allyson K. wife of Tony Manis of Jamestown, Tennessee. 7 grandchildren, Gregory Steward and wife Jenn of Jim Thorpe, Kristy Spairana and husband Mike of Bowmanstown, Josten, Sabian, Autumn, Payton, and Makenzie. 4 great-grandchildren, Cody, Kylie, Lydia, and Korey. Sisters, Mary C. wife of Dennis Haag of Chambersburg, Donna M. wife of Alan Boughter of Washington. Brother, George E. of Quentin, Pennsylvania. Nieces and nephews. Longtime companion, Mary Buskirk.
