James Hiester, 86 of Wind Gap, PA died on September 16, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network in Bethlehem, PA. Born July 4, 1936 in Dauphin CO, PA, he was the son of the late Howard L. Hiester Sr. and the late Esther (Bainbridge) Hiester. He was the husband of the late Dawn Lewis Hiester, with whom he cherished 9 loving years of marriage until her passing in May of 2021.

James was a graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C, and went on to serve God as a pastor for many years before retiring in February of 2013. He enjoyed traveling, playing & calling bingo, playing his electronic games, and many other activities at Walden III, where he had lived the last few years with his wife Dawn. He had a deep devotion to God, and loved the Bible. This lead him to begin teaching weekly Bible studying groups, counseling other, and spreading the word of God at Walden III. He was a former member of the Clarks Valley Zion Evangelical Congregation Church. James will be sadly missed by many residents and friends, especially at Walden III.

Survivors: Step-sisters Winifred "Winnie" Shoop and Alice Hiester. He was predeceased by his first wife Joan (Malseed) Hiester, and brothers, Howard L. Hiester Jr., Eugene Hiester, and Ronald Hiester.
