James V. Lafata

James V. Lafata III, 73, of Northampton, PA passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at his residence.

Born December 16, 1945 in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late James and Mary Lafata.

James proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After his service, he honorably served the citizens of New York City as a member of the New York Police Department for over 15 years.  During his time as an officer, he was a proud member of the Police Benevolent Association.

Surviving are mother, Mary, sons, James Lafata IV of Florida and Kenneth Lafata of Weissport, PA, brothers, Robert Lafata of Florida and Richard Lafata of Staten Island, NY, grandsons, Jayden and Nicholas Lafata of Northampton, PA.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA.  Afterwards, the family would like to have a time of open sharing followed by military honors.
