James. M. McHale

James Martin McHale, 78, of Northampton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026. Born February 12, 1948, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Eugene and Emma (Martin) McHale.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Rosella M. (Withrow) McHale, who passed away on December 18, 2024. He was also predeceased in death by his sister, June McHale.

He is survived by his children, George L. Rager of PA, James L. McHale of Northampton, PA, and Lisa Krapf and her fiancé, Shawn Sowers, of Northampton, PA. He is also survived by his brother, Stephen McHale of Scranton, PA; three grandchildren Christopher, Nicholas, and Colin; and five great-grandchildren.

A graduate of Johnson Trade School (now Johnson College), Jim completed his apprenticeship in Tool and Die Machining. He dedicated his working life to the skilled trades, first serving for 36 years as a Staff Machinist at Western Electric in Allentown. Following that career, he continued his craft for another 21 years at Accupac in Lansdale, PA, where he served as Maintenance Lead and Staff Machinist until his retirement.

Throughout his nearly six decades in the industry, Jim earned the respect of colleagues through his skill, work ethic, and dedication to his craft. He took particular pride in mentoring and training new generations of machinists at both Western Electric and Accupac, sharing his knowledge and experience with those entering the trade. He cherished the opportunity to teach others and took great satisfaction in seeing those he mentored succeed in their own careers.

Jim had been a member of the Lehighton Masonic Lodge No. 621, the Shriners and the Scottish Rite in Allentown. Outside of work, he enjoyed deep-sea fishing and treasured the friendships and memories made on the water.

Above all, Jim was devoted to his family. He will be remembered for his years of hard work, his loyalty to those he loved, and the steady presence he provided throughout his life.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
