James E McRell, 89 of Walnutport, died on Monday, February 5, 2018 at his residence.  Born on January 17, 1929 in East Allen Township, PA, he was the son of the late Alexander McRell and the late Grace (Dech) McRell. He was the husband of Annette H. (Handwerk) McRell of Walnutport.

He graduated from Northampton Area High School in 1947. He served as a RD3 in the Navy from 1948 until 1952.  He was a Veteran of the Korean war and was awarded the National Defense Medal, Navy Occupational Service Medal and Navy Unit Commendation. He retired in 1992 from Fuller Co. in Catasauqua, PA where he was a Machine Operator/Assembler for 35 years. James was a past Commander & Honor Guard member of the V.F.W. Post #4714 in Northampton, PA. He was also a member of the American Legion Oplinger-Hower Post #899 in Walnutport. He was a former caretaker for Indianland Cemetery.

Surviving along with his wife Annette are sons, Gary H. McRell of Walnutport, PA and Terrance E. McRell of Montgomeryville, PA, daughter, Allison J. wife of Alex Kirchner of Ashburn, VA.
