James H. Milkowich, 73, of Bethlehem, PA died Friday, June 10, 2016, at Blough Healthcare Center in Bethlehem. Born August 22, 1942 in Palmerton, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Beirao) Milkowich. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Dancs) Milkowich with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage, last July 29th.
James was a mechanic for Mack Trucks at both the Allentown and Macungie plants for 43 years before retiring in 2003. He was a member of St. Stephen of Hungary R.C. Church, Allentown, PA. He participated in basketball, softball and volleyball as a member of the Mack Trucks Athletic League and coached soccer and baseball for the Bath-East Allen Youth Club. James served his country as a Navy MM3 from 1960 until 1963. He was a crew member on the USS Forrestal (CV-59) and toured the Mediterranean Sea.
Surviving along with his wife Mary Ann are daughter, Kathleen M. Roosa and husband Steven of Langhorne, PA, son James P. Milkowich and wife Dawn of Shoreham, NY, sisters, Marie Travis and husband Peter of Ocean Springs, MS and Ms. Barbara Milkowich of Whitehall, PA. Additionally, there are 5 grandsons: Justin, Zachary, Matthew, Vincent, and Jason and 2 step-granddaughters: Grace and Mary.
On Friday, June 17, 2016, the family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA. 18067. On Saturday, June 18, 2016, there will be a second viewing at the funeral home from 8:15 AM to 9:15 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday June 18, 2016 at St. Stephen of Hungary R.C. Church, 510 Union Street Allentown, PA 18101. Interment with military honors will follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown, PA.
