Mr. James Edward Murphy, III
, 54, of Allentown, PA, formerly of Lehigh Township, Pennsylvania and Naperville, Illinois, died on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown, PA. Born August 21, 1962 in Rockville Centre, New York, he was the son of Maribeth (Forster) Murphy and the late James Murphy, Jr.
James worked as a contractor for many years in the Lehigh Valley and Pocono areas. Prior to construction work, he worked as a chef in New Jersey. James was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking and white water rafting.
Survivors: Survivors include his mother, Maribeth Murphy; son, Joseph J. Murphy of Florida; brothers, Sean M. Murphy of Lehigh Township, PA and Colin S. Murphy and his wife Tiffany of Lehigh Township, PA; and two grandchildren.
Services: Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.
Contributions: May be made in his memory to the American Lung Association.
